This pure copper ring has a 10mm band, size U 1/2, with a pin-hammered finish. It is set with a Bloodstone cabochon. Bloodstone (formerly Heliotrope) is of the Chalcedony family, with the green color coming from chlorite and the red from iron oxides.
Thought to be a blood-purifier from ancient times, in the Medieval period Bloodstone became associated with the blood from the Christian Messiah's wounds. Because of its healing associations it combines well with Copper, which some believe wearing helps with their arthritis. Bloodstone is the alternative birthstone for March.
